Sessions typically begin with a brief conversation about your current experience, concerns, or intentions. Unlike traditional therapy, this conversation is not about analyzing your story in depth, but about identifying where your system might feel activated or stuck. Rather than revisiting painful events in detail, the session centers on noticing physical sensations—like tension, breath, or subtle shifts in the body—in a safe and controlled way. This process helps build awareness of how the body holds and processes stress or trauma.

Using principles from Somatic Experiencing, I support you in safely exploring sensations in small, manageable increments. This may include noticing areas of comfort or neutrality, allowing the nervous system to gradually release stored activation without becoming overwhelmed. The pacing is collaborative and attuned to your capacity, emphasizing a sense of safety and control throughout the session.

Clients are comfortably seated or resting on a massage table. If indicated, and with your consent, I may also use gentle, non-invasive hands-on techniques to introduce soft, rhythmic movements and light touch. These movements are designed to invite a sense of ease, fluidity, and effortlessness in the body, helping to reduce deeply held tension patterns and support relaxation. This is not a massage. Clients are always fully clothed.

Throughout the session, there is an emphasis on curiosity, mindfulness, and developing internal resources—such as grounding, orientation, and awareness of support. Clients may experience shifts such as increased relaxation, greater body awareness, emotional release, or a sense of integration.

Overall, sessions are individualized, respectful, and non-directive, aiming to restore balance within the nervous system and foster a deeper connection between body and mind. Over time, this process helps your nervous system release stored stress and return to a more balanced state. Most people leave sessions feeling calmer, more present, and better able to regulate their emotional and physical responses. Sometimes changes are subtle and continue unfolding over the next day or two.
